Register to Test
Registration is available online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Because of laws protecting confidentiality and privacy, only you may register yourself for a test.
You should try to register as early as possible before your desired test date. Test appointments are scheduled on a first-come, first-served basis; you may not be able to schedule an appointment to test on your preferred date if you register within three calendar days of the day on which you plan to take the test.
See Requesting Alternative Testing Arrangements for information about how to request alternative testing arrangements.
How to Register
On the My Account homepage, select Register to Test and follow the instructions provided.
Answer the background questions and indicate your agreement to the testing rules.
You will be asked the following questions:
Will you be requesting alternative testing arrangements?
Would you like your scores sent to you by email?
What is your first (native) language?
What license are you seeking?
What is your license category?
If your license category is Academic PreK–12, you will be asked to answer some educational background questions.
Where would you like your scores sent?
Scores will automatically be sent to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and to the higher education institution you indicate as your "Educator Preparation Program." You may also indicate up to three additional higher education institutions or alternative preparation programs to receive your pass/fail status.
Submit your payment using a credit, debit, or check card.
How to Schedule Your Test
Receive your Authorization to Test
After you have completed the registration process, you will be sent an email acknowledging that you have submitted a registration. Within one business day, you will be emailed an Authorization to Test, which allows you to schedule a test appointment. Be sure to check the information on your Authorization to Test when you receive it. Notify Evaluation Systems immediately if any testing information needs to be corrected.
If you lose your Authorization to Test or have not received it within three business days of submitting your registration, contact Evaluation Systems.
Your Authorization to Test is valid for one year from the date of issue. If you do not schedule a test appointment and take your test within one year, or withdraw your registration within one year, your authorization will expire, and you will receive no refund or credit of any kind.
Schedule your appointment according to the instructions in your Authorization to Test
Receive your confirmation email
After you schedule your appointment, you will be sent an email confirming your appointment and providing the address and phone number of the test center, as well as directions to the test center.
If you lose your confirmation or have not received it within three business days of scheduling (or rescheduling) your test, log in to your account to access your test appointment information, or contact Pearson VUE.
