Details

  • A pilot test form for (061) English or (190) Foundations of Reading takes approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes to complete.
  • A pilot test form for (063) Mathematics or (065) Middle School Mathematics takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete.
  • Participants may take up to two pilot test forms per field. Participants must complete one pilot test before a second can be scheduled.
  • Computer-based test centers are conveniently located throughout the state of Massachussetts.
  • Register for a pilot test appointment on or after February 4, 2020. Field test appointments are available from February 18–March 16, 2020.

Eligibility

To be eligible to participate in the field test, you must meet at least one of the following eligibility requirements:

  • You are currently a junior or senior enrolled in an educator preparation program who will be seeking an educator license in one of the fields listed, OR
  • You are a newly-licensed educator (first received a license within the past calendar year) in one of the fields listed, OR
  • You are registered for a future administration of the MTEL in one of the fields listed.

Educator preparation faculty are not eligible to participate in the pilot test.

*Incentives will be distributed 6–8 weeks after the pilot test window closes.

Incentives are issued upon verification of completion of each pilot test form.

A voucher may be applied toward registration fees for a future MTEL test. Test registration vouchers are transferable and expire one (1) year from the date of issue.
