Test Sessions

Test sessions for computer-based testing (CBT) are by appointment and are scheduled by candidates (see "Internet Registration" for information about test scheduling).

Selecting subtests. You may register to take one or both subtests of a single test field per test session. If you select both subtests in one registration, both subtests will be administered in one four-hour test session. Within the test session, the subtests are not individually timed and you may spend as much time as you choose on each subtest. If you are taking both subtests, you may also choose to submit a separate registration for each subtest, which allows you to schedule the subtests separately (e.g., on different days), each in its own four-hour test session. Please note, however, that since the CBT fee and registration fee are charged for each test appointment, per-test costs are lower when you register for both subtests of a single test field in one registration.

Register carefully. Once you have registered, you may not change your test selection unless you withdraw your registration and register again. Since the registration processing fee is not refunded, if you withdraw and then register again, you will incur additional registration costs. (See "Changing Your Registration" for more information.) You must wait 45 days after taking a computer-based test/subtest before retaking the same test/subtest.
