Additional test dates are offered for the Communication and Literacy Skills test only. For these additional administrations, sites will be available in the Boston and Springfield areas only. There will be an additional fee for these test dates; see "Test Fees and Payment Policies" for more information. Fee waivers associated with testing on consecutive test dates will not apply to the additional test dates for the Communication and Literacy Skills test and to scores delayed due to passing score activities. You may make a request for alternative testing arrangements when you register for the MTEL during the regular, late, or emergency registration period. To ensure that there is adequate time to process your request, you are strongly encouraged to register and submit all required information as early as possible, preferably by the regular registration deadline.
Internet Registration All registration periods. To register on the Internet, your registration must be completed by 5:00 p.m. eastern time on the registration deadline for the period.
U.S. Mail Registration Regular and late registration periods only. To register by mail during the regular registration period, your registration materials must be postmarked by the regular registration deadline. During the late registration period, your registration materials must be received by 5:00 p.m. eastern time on the late registration deadline.
Telephone Registration Emergency registration period only. To register by telephone, call (413) 256-2892 or (866) 565-4894, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. eastern time, Monday–Friday, excluding the September 7, 2009, holiday. Emergency registration ends at 5:00 p.m. eastern time on the last day of the emergency registration period.
The telephone reregistration service is available during the regular and late reregistration periods only. See below for telephone reregistration information and the reregistration schedule.

* Scores for the Communication and Literacy Skills (01), Physics (11), Chemistry (12), Biology (13), Earth Science (14), French (26), Spanish (28), and Technology/Engineering (33) tests administered at the September 26, 2009, test administration may be delayed due to passing score activities and will be available after passing scores have been approved. Fee waivers associated with testing on consecutive test dates will not apply to these tests.

** Scores for the Latin and Classical Humanities (15), Visual Art (17), Business (19), Health/Family and Consumer Sciences (21), and Physical Education (22) tests administered at the March 6, 2010, test administration may be delayed due to passing score activities and will be available after passing scores have been approved. Fee waivers associated with testing on consecutive test dates will not apply to these tests.


2009–2010 Telephone Reregistration Schedule

For candidates who have registered for the MTEL before, the telephone reregistration service is available at (413) 256-2892 or (866) 565-4894 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. eastern time, Monday through Friday, excluding the following holidays:

• December 25, 2009
• January 1, 2010
• January 18, 2010

Telephone reregistration must be completed by the candidate who is registering for the licensure test. Before you call, review the "Registration Checklist" at the beginning of this section.

If you register by telephone, you must pay the test fees using a credit card (VISA or MasterCard only) or a debit or check card that carries the VISA or MasterCard logo and that can be used without the entry of a personal identification number (PIN). Bank cards without a VISA or MasterCard logo cannot be accepted.

After you complete your telephone registration, any changes must be submitted (on the Internet or by U.S. mail) by the late registration deadline of the test date for which you are registered or the new test date you are requesting, whichever is earlier. See "Changing Your Registration" for information about how to submit a registration modification request.
