RELEASE OF YOUR TEST RESULTS
Your score report will be mailed to you on the score report date published in “Test Dates.” Your score
report is for your information only; do not submit it with your application for licensure. Keep your score
report for your permanent records.
Your test results will be sent to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and automatically added to your licensure file
once you apply for a license, based on your social security number or Department-issued identification
number. Your test results will be sent automatically to the Massachusetts institution(s) you indicated during
registration. In addition, if you give explicit permission, your educator preparation institution will also receive your social security
number.
You may also access your MTEL pass/fail status before or after applying for a license. To access your
status, go to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Licensure web site at www.doe.mass.edu/educators; select
“Licensure” and then “ELAR.” If you have not already done so, you will have to create an ELAR profile.
Under some circumstances, test results may be delayed. For example:
- Test results for newly developed or redeveloped tests may
be delayed in order to set standards. Such delays are
noted on the schedule published in “Test
Dates.”
- Some individuals’ test results may be delayed due to problems
with registration or other matters.
In addition, your test results will be delayed if there are
problems with your payment, and your test results will be permanently
voided if your account is not paid in full and cleared
by 20 calendar days after the test date. See “
Test
Fees and Payment Policies” for more information.
Internet Posting of Unofficial Test Results
Unofficial test results will be available on the Internet at 5:00 p.m. eastern time on the score report dates
listed in “
Test Dates.” For each test date, unofficial test results will be available on the Internet for approximately
two weeks. For security reasons, unofficial test results may be viewed
only once on the Internet
during the posting period.
Unofficial test results are available to you on the Internet regardless of your registration method. However,
you must provide your date of birth when you register in order to be able to retrieve your unofficial test
results. If you register on the Internet, you may also request that your unofficial test results be sent to you
by e-mail.
To access your unofficial test results on the Internet, go to www.mtel.nesinc.com, select “Score Reporting,”
and follow the instructions provided. You will be required to provide your MTEL identification number,
which is found on your admission ticket and/or e-mail registration confirmation, and your date of birth.
Test results are available on the Internet and by e-mail solely to provide you with preliminary, unofficial
notification of your passing status as quickly as possible. Unofficial test results sent by e-mail or posted
on the Internet are not acceptable substitutes for an official score report.
Official Candidate Score Reports
Your official score report will be sent to you by U.S. mail on the score report date published in “
Test
Dates.” Your score report will be sent to the address that you provided during the registration process. If you wish to have your
official score report sent to a different address, you may complete a Registration Information Correction Form at the test site on
the day of the test administration.
For each test you took, your score report provides information about your passing status and other performance
information. See “
MTEL Passing Requirements” for detailed information on the passing requirements
for MTEL tests.
Your score report is accompanied by an explanation of how to read your score report. A score report
explanation is also available by selecting “
Score Reporting” on the MTEL web site at www.mtel.nesinc.com.
If you have not received your score report two weeks after the score report date, call (413) 256-2892
or (866) 565-4894. Under no circumstances will your official score report information be released in
person or by telephone, fax, or e-mail.
