LICENSURE INFORMATION

License Category

When you are registering for the MTEL, if you are taking ANY tests to meet Academic (PreK–12) license requirements, select “Academic (PreK–12)” as your license category. Select “Vocational Technical” or “Adult Basic Education” if applicable.


License Code

When you register for the MTEL, select from the following chart the two-digit code for the license you are seeking. If you do not see here the precise license you are seeking, please enter the code for the closest license to the one sought. If undecided, enter “99.”

This information is for data collection purposes only and will not be reported to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for the purpose of issuing licenses.
